Peel Regional Police and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel have been valued partners for decades. Whether it’s a soccer outing, the Kids ‘n’ Cops fishing program, assisting with fundraising events like our Gala, or leading the way in our Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake by entering 23 teams, PRP are always extending helping hands.
This strong partnership exists because BBBSP and PRP are both committed to supporting youth in our community. BBBSP provides children with mentors to learn, listen, and befriend, helping ease the transition from childhood to healthy, confident, contributing adults. PRP supports us and our kids because together we steer our youth off the wrong path and in the right direction.
We proudly welcome Peel Regional Police Chief, Jennifer Evans as our Honorary Chairperson for Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake in 2013 and thank her for helping with this all-time successful event. Our thanks is also extended to Staff Sergeant Radcliffe Rose, who agreed to be our Peel Regional Police internal champion, and to the great team of PRP officers and staff who came out to bowl with us February 24th at Classic Bowl raising more than $20,000 for our agency and our community!
BBBSP is very fortunate to have 14 PRP staff who are dedicated mentors in our programs. For more than 10 years our Emergency Services Recruitment Campaign has spread the word about volunteering to police, fire, and ambulance workers. Our youth can look up to and learn from these great Peel Regional Police mentors.
We are proud to partner with Peel Regional Police and commend them on the great work they do, not only with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel but with the many other agencies and organizations they assist each and every year. Their civic engagement is exceptional and makes them such a highly regarded asset, not only to the youth they assist through BBBSP but to the entire Peel community.
