Looking for Mentors – Be the Change!
In a new partnership with Brampton Multicultural Community Centre (BMC), BBBSP is co-facilitating a Leadership Development Program for newcomer youth known as Be The Change! This program works to promote civic awareness and engagement amongst youth by providing them with training workshops to enhance their leadership capabilities and empower them to participate in community decision making.
This program is for newcomer youth aged 15 – 24 and mentors between the ages of 18-24. The Mentors will meet weekly at a Brampton Secondary School with a small group of newcomer youth to guide them in a community project of their choice, providing encouragement and support. The meeting time with youth will be flexible-before school, during lunch, or after school.
Mentors are asked to commit to at least one session listed for 3 consecutive months:
- Spring Session – March - June
- Summer Session - July - August
- Fall Session - October – December
