The After-School Program is offered in partnership with Clark Boulevard Public School in Brampton. This program is funded by The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports as part of the Ontario Youth Action Plan.
Students at Clark Boulevard Public School from grades 2–5 are refered directly by the school to attend this after-school program which focuses on physical activity and education on healthy eating and personal wellness and safety. The program is offered three day per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 3:00-6:00pm.
The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports has clear guidelines and recommendations for the program curriculum that align with the themes above. Weekly Program Plans offer:
- 30% physical activity
- 20% healthy eating and nutrition education
- 20% wellness and personal health
- 30% remaining time is used based on community needs (Cultural programs, homework help, etc.)
