The JUMP Math Program is a site-based program held within an elementary school. Children are in grades 3 to 6. This program uses the JUMP Math system to teach and mentor children. The objective of the program is to build the confidence of children in their own ability to do mathematics through an excellent curriculum and an encouraging, enthusiastic, supportive one-to-one mentoring relationship.
The JUMP Math tutoring program will meet weekly for an hour throughout the school year. Students will be matched one-to-one with a volunteer mentor; together each week, they will structure their time into three areas: mental math, practicing key skills using curriculum worksheets provided by Jump Math and playing numeracy games together (cards, battleship, checkers, etc). This site-based mentoring program will be supervised by BBBS Peel staff at a school or community location.
