About Mentoring

Many adults have fond memories of a special person who played an important role in their personal, occupational or professional development. That special person, most often someone older, was a source of support and nurturing not always available from peers, parents or siblings. This “friend” provided inspiration, acceptance, a sympathetic ear, career opportunities or exposure to new activities or ideas. Today we would call that special person a mentor.

Being a mentor is simple. It's about sharing time: play catch, read a book or watch movies and make popcorn. Through our enrollment process, we get to know you so we can find the best match for you. Our matches are based on common interests and time considerations. Your caseworker will be here to support you and help you out if you need it.
