RIGHT NOW, 300 CHILDREN ARE WAITING FOR A MENTOR

Campaign for Kids will help the growing number of children on our wait list gain faster access to our programs and services.  Launched in 2006, Campaign for Kids is an initiative to raise $500,000 by the end of 2009.  Our goal is to ensure that the 300 children who are waiting are matched with a caring, adult mentor.

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel, child safety is paramount.  Initial recruitment, screening, training and matching of children and volunteers is an intensive and extremely necessary procedure.  As the match progresses costs are significantly reduced.

Help ensure that every child in our community has the chance to grow, play, learn and laugh.  For each child on the wait list, it costs almost $1,000 to safely and effectively match them with a caring adult mentor and to monitor this match for 1 year.  Campaign for Kids is specifically designed to support new matches including recruitment, intake, assessment, training and monthly match monitoring.

EVERY CHILD WHO NEEDS A MENTOR HAS A MENTOR

One gift of $1,000 will ensure that a child is matched and supported through one of our agency’s six core mentoring programs for a period of one year.

By making a financial commitment of $1,000, your gift will provide the funds required to match a child with a caring adult mentor, ensure participation in agency planned activities and provide volunteer/child/family monitoring.  Children are our future.  Please join us in assisting the children in our community to grow into healthy, confident adults by sponsoring a child.
