Group Mentoring - PEAK/PALS

Our Group Leaders share 2-4 hours a week with ten children on a weekly basis with other volunteers and kids. Groups participate in fun and skill based activities organized by the agency, from September to June. Group activities are free, as the agency will cover all the costs and planning of the activities. Activities may include cooking, floor hockey, squash, picnics, swimming and crafts. Groups are gender based: PEAK for boys and PALS for girls, and according to age groups.

As part of our Trillium Grant, we introduced a Big Buddy group in January 2005. This group is a cross-gender group of female volunteers and boys aged 6-11 years. In 2006, we plan to launch a Leadership Training group.

Group outings are held in both Mississauga and Brampton, and a schedule of activities is provided well in advance. We ask that you have access to a car, as you will be picking up and returning children to their homes.

Review our Volunteer Information Package, attend an optional orientation session to learn more or, if you already know this program is right for you, download our Application form and start sharing the magic right away.
