The Power of an Hour! Make a difference in a child's life in just one hour a week. In partnership with the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, this program matches elementary girls and boys with a caring adult mentor. Matches meet for one hour each week during school hours and on school property to share in fun activities.
There are currently over 72 schools in the Peel Region that participate in the program. It is easy to match you with a child in a school that is close to your work, home or school. Spend the hour playing basketball, doing arts and crafts or playing a board game. We are looking for volunteers who can make a one year commitment. Access to a vehicle is not required for this program as you meet the child in his or her school. Interested in mentoring a secondary school student? We offer this school-based program at West Credit Secondary School in Mississauga and Fletcher's Meadow Secondary School in Brampton. Indicate this choice on your application form.
